The Collective

Mikelle Schwartz

Mikelle joined The Collective in January 2010.

Prior to joining The Collective, Mikelle most recently was Marketing Director at the independent record label Shangri-La Music, on a team led by long-time music industry veteran, Jeff Ayeroff. There, Mikelle executed fundamental aspects of artist development including the day-to-day needs of touring, branding, marketing, licensing and production. She played an essential role in the development of Band of Skulls – a critically lauded band who, in the span of half a year, went from being unknown in the States, to securing a coveted spot on the platinum-selling soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: New Moon, selling out shows all over the country, and earning a place on numerous year end ‘best of’ lists. The specialized nature of the label/artist relationship at Shangri-La enabled Mikelle to manage successful projects from a viewpoint that is reflective of the rapidly changing music industry and provided a natural segue into management.

Mikelle started out her career in music at Interscope Geffen A&M Records where she developed and coordinated national branding and lifestyle marketing campaigns for artists including Angels and Airwaves, Mary J Blige, Common, Sheryl Crow, Feist, Lady Gaga, Kate Nash, Papa Roach, Puddle of Mudd, Rise Against, Robyn, TV On The Radio, Weezer, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Rob Zombie. This paved the way for Mikelle to develop a natural approach to combining both mainstream and grassroots methods for the organic success and longevity of a campaign while contributing to the overall long-term success of the artist.

Bringing her perspective from both a major and independent record label, as well as experience in artist development from a versatile standpoint, Mikelle supports the overall objective of The Collective and offers a passion and knowledge of niche marketing tactics that strongly support each client’s valuable needs.
