Roxanne Benjamin

Roxanne Benjamin is the Head of Acquisitions and Production for The Collective’s theatrical, digital, and home video genre brand, Bloody Disgusting Selects, which focuses on the development, production, and distribution of elevated genre content from around the world. She recently oversaw all aspects of development and production for the Collective on the feature film V/H/S, on which she was a Producer, from conception through final delivery. The film was accepted into the Midnight Section of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and sold domestic rights to Magnolia Pictures for over $1 million dollars. She holds a Masters in Entertainment Business Management from the H. J. Heinz College of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Melon University and a BA in Visual Arts and Story Analysis from Belmont University in Nashville. Prior to joining the Collective, Roxanne worked for one of the nation’s top non-profit independent film theaters, the historic Belcourt Theater in Nashville, TN, and the Tennessee Repertory Theater. From there, she moved to the Documentary Channel, where she served in various capacities including Media Associate, Programming & Planning Manager, and Film Festival Manager. While attending graduate school, Roxanne served as an Exhibitions and Development Associate for Pittsburgh Filmmakers and the Three Rivers Film Festival, and brought the Human Rights Film Festival to Pittsburgh, overseeing programming, marketing, and community outreach. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has worked in Creative Affairs, Development, Film and Television Production, Feature Distribution, Sales, New Media Marketing, and Acquisitions. Roxanne continues to serve as a freelance journalist for online publications, primarily those covering genre film, and serves on juries and panels at film festivals around the world.
